Patrick Sullivan Wines
Chardonnay 2023
Winemaker notes:
This release bares all the hallmarks and volcanicity of its predecessors with the poise, generosity, and minerality you expect, only it’s made to drink now.
Cream, white peach, citrus vanillin brioche on the nose. The palate has more brioche plus minerality, peaches, lime and cream.
Limestone Coast fruit, including a blend of Coonawarra and Mount Gambier. The Coonawarra fruit is from the V&A Lane Vineyard planted over Terra Rossa and limestone soil. The Mount Gambier fruit is from the Coola Road vineyard, a flinty volcanic site, close to the Southern Ocean.
The fruit is whole cluster crushed, pressed then drained off into tank for settling. Primary fermentation takes place in barrique and tank with approx. 15% new oak used.
