We’ve been hard at work putting together a banging winter red for everyone. It’s the very first of our wines to see such extensive barrel time and represents (to us) a true cool climate wine. It’s chock full of cranberry and fig and plum, it’s dark and moody and bright all at the same time with a lick of barrel character. We couldn’t be happier with this splash and we’re so excited to share it.
She comes from organically grown fruit in Murrumbateman, from a vineyard on Nanima Road. Half Pinot and half Shiraz destemmed and left as multiple separate ferments for a very lengthy 3-6 month maceration, then basket pressed to old 500 litre puncheons for a year of élevage.
1,200 bottles produced.
As with all our wines, this wine is made from grapes only with no additives whatsoever. It is carefully made by hand with no big machinery and laboriously fussed over so the result is high quality and stable, eschewing the need for added sulphites.
