La Sarriette Pinot Blanc 2021
Tasting notes:
Razor sharp acidity that cuts through like a blunt knife. Tarty and juicy with a pop of tangerine, under-ripe pineapple and hard (freshly squeezed) lemonade.
We ate with: Sea salt chips
We listened to: Aldous Harding
Winemaker notes:
Also from Surmann’s vineyard in Totness, here the fruit was whole-bunch pressed and only the free run fraction went ahead and fermented in a 2000L foudre, before some aging on lees.
This arrives lean, savoury, tight, mineral and austere, then the true Pinot Blanc personality explodes, progressing through a velour texture with honeysuckle and wild lavender.
No added SO2.
