Vallée du Venom
Malbec 2021
Tasting notes:
More savoury than the nose would tell. Rich plums and berries with light tannins that work the mouth and linger gently on the back of the tongue. Fun. Compliment it with some cheese or a red meaty dish and you're good to go.
We ate with: A bunch of other wines at a tasting session
We listened to: Ours Samplus
Winemaker notes:
Our 2021 Malbec was harvested in mid-March in the south west of Western Australia, crushed into open fermenters, with wild yeast allowed to do their work. Plunged gently by hand for ten days. No acid additions or finings. Minimal sulphur additions made post-malo and aged in old French oak for 12 months before bottling without filtration.
Small batch, minimal intervention.
